Alison Gaylor
A graduate of the Oregon School of Massage, Alison has practiced massage since 1999. Her professional studies include SMRT, Neuromuscular Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Orthopedic Massage, & Thai Massage, with particular expertise in Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, and Myofascial Release. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature, Alison obtained her license in massage therapy and shortly thereafter opened her practice in NW Portland.
Regardless of what type of massage technique Alison employs, she believes the single most important element of any massage is the quality of touch. “Ideally, my client would like me to use pressure that is not too light and not too hard, but precisely what works for them. I want my clients to leave feeling significantly better than they did when they arrived or I feel I haven’t done my job. I aim to combine the perfect pressure with a deeply relaxing experience every time.”
A collegiate level athlete, Alison continues to lead an active lifestyle and recognizes the importance of giving back to your body. She’s maintained a yoga practice for over 20 years, and when she’s not at work you might find her on the bike path, running the Wildwood trail, playing soccer at the park, hoops in Nopo, or napping with her cat, Frida.
